4Points Academy, a private elementary and middle school that uses small class sizes to focus on individual curriculums, opened Sept. 6 at the IQuest Global Enrichment Center, 5145 N. RR 620, Austin.

“A traditional school doesn’t cater to each student, [especially] those above or below their grade level,” co-founder Eustace Isidore said. “There’s not enough effort to get them back up to their [grade] level. We take students and identify the specific gaps at previous levels or push them ahead.”

The academy’s curriculum mixes an online learning platform with live instruction, which allows teachers to engage each child at an individual level, he said. It also gives parents and staff real-time feedback on a student’s performance,  he said.

“Our program is one that’s very adaptive, and it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do,” Isidore said. “There are still some different kinks to work out, but we’re continuing to progress.”

Although the academy has six students, Isidore said he hopes to double or triple the student population by next year.
