After five years of service to the Eanes ISD school board, Beau Ross resigned his post at a board meeting Sept. 20 due to personal reasons. The board unanimously appointed Kal Kallison as an interim board member.
Superintendent Tom Leonard and trustee Christie Bybee presented Ross with a plaque to honor his service to the board, and trustees took a moment to speak about Ross’ contributions to the district.
“It’s been a wonderful five years working with Beau,” trustee Rob Hargett said. “He brought passion, tenaciousness and a sense of humor to the board as well as a business perspective that the board needed.”
Kallison is no stranger to EISD. He served on the board from 2009-15, when he retired. Kallison was board president in 2011 and 2012 and also acted as secretary from 2009-10.
Board President Colleen Jones said Ross’ seat should not be left vacant and thought it was in the best interest to appoint an individual with knowledge of district issues.
