Harris County and the city of Houston are studying the feasibility of expanding Hamblen Road in Kingwood from to four lanes between Loop 494 and Trail Tree Lane. The project will enter the study phase once the Houston City Council and Harris County Commissioners Court approve an Interagency Agreement outlining the respective entities' responsibilities during the project, said Pamela Rocchi, director of the Harris County Precinct 4 Capital Improvement Projects Division. The timeline and cost of the project will be determined during the study phase, she said. Once this segment of the road is completed, the local authorities will turn their attention to extending the stretch of Hamblen Road between Bonnie Glen Street and Woodland Hills Drive to four lanes, Rocchi said.
