Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file a contributions and expenditures report 30 days before the election. This latest round of reports, the first mandated disclosure since this summer, covers all financials from July 1 to Sept. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission.
Here is how much donation money each Buda City Council candidate has earned and spent during that timeframe.
Place 1
Lee Urbanovsky
Total political contributions: $2,245.72; total political expenditures: $4,128.66
All contributions were made by people who listed their address in Buda, except for a $500 donation from Kirby Baird, who listed a Driftwood address. Jenna Early donated $500 and Joel Stone donated $210.
Theodore Kosub
Kosub's paperwork was not uploaded to
the election website by city staff at press time. Once it is, this story will be updated to reflect that.
John Hatch
Total political contributions: $1,875; total political expenditures: $1,500
Joe Willie McAllister, a real estate broker from Austin, gave $1,000. Ann Duncan from Big Spring, Texas, gave $250, and Laurie Cromwell from Buda also gave $250.
Funds were also raised on Hatch's by
Friends of John Hatch, a special purpose committee.
Total political contributions: $3,665; total political expenditures: $3,312.46
State Rep. Richard Pena Raymond, D-Laredo, gave $1,000, as did Brint Ryan, a tax consultant from Dallas. Clint Hackney, a lobbyist and government affairs lawyer from Austin, gave $500.
Place 2
Wiley Hopkins
Total political contributions: $535; total political expenditures: $1,257.50
Hopkins only received one listed donation: $500 from JCI Residential, LLC in Austin, Texas, the
developer of Carrington Oaks, an apartment complex in Buda.
Jeffrey Morales
Morales' paperwork was not uploaded to
