Breast cancer is the leading form of cancer for women in the U.S., with an estimated 40,450 women expected to die from breast cancer in 2016 alone, according to the American Cancer Society.

To stem the number of breast cancer-related deaths, communities around the country are raising funds and awareness this October for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Pearland and Friendswood communities are chipping in to support the cause and are educating the public on prevention and early diagnosis. Here's how you can get involved this month.
