1. FM 1097 widening
The Texas Department of Transportation has completed 20 percent of an expansion project on FM 1097 between I-45 and Hwy. 75 in Willis. The project will expand the roadway from two to four lanes and add a continuous left-turn lane. Construction by contractor Smith & Company is expected to take 11 months to complete.

2. Park and ride project
The city of Conroe partnered with TxDOT to develop a park and ride facility under the I-45 overpass at the FM 2854 intersection. The facility is intended to transport commuters from Conroe to downtown Houston and the Texas Medical Center. Smith & Company crews have completed 22 percent of the project.

3. Hwy. 105 improvement project
TxDOT crews will start construction on a Hwy. 105 improvement project in October. The project will add a raised median throughout the roadway from I-45 to Frazier Street in Conroe. The median will limit left-hand turns to designated intersections for transit safety purposes. Construction of 5-foot-wide sidewalks on each side of the roadway is also included in the project.

4. FM 149 improvements
TxDOT crews will undertake a widening and overlay project on FM 149 in 2017. The project will expand the roadway to include a center left-turn lane between FM 1097 and Hwy. 105 in Montgomery. TxDOT will complete a similar ongoing project north of FM 1097 by the second quarter of 2017.

5. League Line Road extension
Construction of a 2.5-mile extension to League Line Road in Conroe will be completed by the end of September. The project extends the road from Frazier Street past FM 1484, creating a direct route from I-45 through the Conroe Park North industrial park to Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport. An exact opening date has not been determined.
