Seton Healthcare Family, along with developers of a medical complex in Southwest Austin, broke ground Friday on the fourth and final phase of the complex.
Waterleaf Medical Center will be the future home to a two-story Seton facility for walk-in, family primary care, said Trac Bledsoe, president of Waterleaf Medical Center co-developer B3 Commercial Management.
"Our business plan has been to establish a health care hub that has specialty practices and health care services that the folks in [Southwest Austin] need and want," Bledsoe said.
The final phase of Waterleaf Medical Center, the majority of which will be Seton's new primary care facility, may be completed by summer 2017, Bledsoe said.
B3 Commercial Management and Hughes Capital Management began constructing the 125,000-square-foot Waterleaf Medical Center in summer 2012, but plans for the complex began in 2008, Bledsoe said. The most recently completed phase is home to Balcones Pain Consultants, GenoRite Pharmacy and Water Leaf Surgery Center.
