1. Huffmeister Road widening

After multiple delays, Harris County Precinct 3 officials have opened all lanes of a wider Huffmeister Road. The project involved widening the road from Skinner Road to Meadowside Park Drive in Cypress from a two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane concrete boulevard.

2. Hwy. 290 Project E

As of Sept. 7, eastbound drivers entering Hwy. 290 mainlanes from Hwy. 6 in Houston must use a new entrance ramp located farther east. Drivers must now access the high occupancy vehicle lane from either the Northwest Park & Ride ramp at West Road or from the Huffmeister Road entrance. Project E entails widening Hwy. 290 to five to six mainlanes between N. Eldridge Parkway and Telge Road.

3. Cypress Rosehill Road widening

Construction started in July on a Harris County project to widen Cypress Rosehill Road from two lanes to four lanes. Officials said the project, which will widen the road from Lake Cypress Hill to the Grand Parkway, is expected to continue for the next 12 months.

4. Grant Road widening

Harris County Precinct 4 wrapped up the design phase of a project that will widen Grant Road between Old Kluge and Spring Cypress roads in Cypress from a two-lane asphalt roadway to a four-lane concrete boulevard. The project was sent out for bids in August.

5. Hwy. 290 Project G

TxDOT is nearing the end of a temporary lane configuration through Project G that will be in place through September. As crews work on two outbound mainlanes, drivers can use the remaining mainlane or the new collector-distributor lanes. Project G entails widening Hwy. 290 to six mainlanes between West Little York Road and FM 529. The project is roughly 83 percent complete.

6. Louetta Road extension

Harris County Precinct 4 is working to extend Louetta Road as a four-lane concrete boulevard from Blanco Trails Lane to Telge Road in Cypress.

7. West Road extension

A partnership between Harris County Precinct 3, Caldwell Companies and Land Tejas will result in the extension of West Road as a two-lane concrete half-boulevard between Greenhouse and Fry roads. Land Tejas is working through September on a connector bridge, officials said.
