If council passes the rezoning and specific use permit, this location could be home to a new auto repair shop.[/caption]
If you live near Virginia Parkway and Jordan Road in McKinney, a new auto service center could be your new neighbor.
During tonight's planning and zoning meeting, the commission voted to recommend the McKinney City Council rezone and allow a specific use permit that, if approved, could allow a new auto shop.
The auto shop, Honest-1, will have four bays and will initially employ about 10 employees, according to city documents. However, as the business gains a larger customer base, documents state they will add more employees.
According to a letter sent by the site owner and partner, services that could be provided are light auto maintenance, service and repair. No major overhauls will be performed on site, tire and wheel service is limited since no tires are stored or kept in on-site inventory and the typical service ticket is one hour.
Planning and zoning commissioners said the item could come before council as early as Oct. 4.
