For residents still unsure about where to go to celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend, the Cy-Fair area offers several opportunities to get in on the patriotic fun, and the City of Houston is planning its annual celebration as well. Details on three Fourth of July celebrations can be found below:
  1. Trader’s Village celebrates the Fourth a few days early on July 2 with the 2016 Independence Day Celebration. The market will open at 10 a.m. with over 1500 vendors, a live DJ, games and other family friendly activities. Ride passes will be available for $9.75 to access the 11 amusement park rides on site. Food for sale includes chicken strips, funnel cakes and fries.   1. The Boardwalk at Towne Lake is hosting Boom on the Boardwalk from 6-9 p.m. on July 4. Guests can bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to relax on while watching the fireworks over the lake, which start at 9 p.m. following a residential boat parade at 8:45 p.m. The event features live music, face painting and food and beverages are available for purchase at various Boardwalk restaurants.   1. U.S. Family Health Plan Freedom Over Texas features live music from Darius Rucker, Eli Young Band, The Suffers and Brooke Eden. Festivities take place from 4-10 p.m. at the newly renovated Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou. The location will feature a kids zone, beer garden and fireworks finale sponsored by CITGO.
