The city of Georgetown and retail consultants Catalyst Commercial will host a workshop with downtown business owners, residents and stakeholders June 16 from 8-11 a.m. to get input on the city’s
Retail Strategy and Recruitment Plan.
The meeting will be held at the Georgetown Public Library in the Friends Room at 402 W. Eighth St.
City leaders are seeking input from downtown stakeholders about their thoughts on Georgetown’s opportunities to attract and retain retail establishments in downtown, according to a news release from the city.
City Council approved a contract with Dallas-based Catalyst Commercial to complete the retail study, which will include a market assessment; market, competitive and property analyses; potential tenant identification; and a merchandising plan as well as a delineation of the city’s primary trade area.
The project will look at existing conditions and identify retail locations that will be beneficial for citizens and businesses as well as creating a more diverse retail mix in the city, according to the news release.
