designation of the "Round Rock Arts and Cultural District." The district includes much of downtown, Chisholm Trail Crossing Park, and the Sam Bass and Hopewell Cemeteries.

"The mission of the Round Rock Arts and Cultural District is to create a place for residents to create a place for citizens and tourists alike that expresses the Texas spirit from its historic Chisholm Trail area through downtown Round Rock that encompasses a rich heritage of architecture, buildings, history and the art," the application states.

The plan state the district will include walking tours highlighting the city's history, trails and downtown. Round Rock Director of Arts and Culture Director Scot Wilkinson said at a council workshop session May 24 taht applying for the district would allow the city to apply for certain grants as well.
