1. Lockwood Drive/Woodland Hills Drive expansion, extension


Construction is ongoing on the expansion and extension of Lockwood and Woodland Hills drives. The road will be expanded from two to four lanes between North Lake Houston Parkway and Eagle Ridge Elementary School, where the road ends. At Eagle Ridge Elementary School a new four-lane boulevard will be constructed to Rankin Road.


Timeline: April 2015-fourth quarter 2017
Cost: $22.8 million
Funding sources: Harris County precincts 1, 2, 4 and McCord Development



2. Grand Parkway Segment G


The Texas Department of Transportaton completed Segment G of the Grand Parkway in late March. The new segment connects I-45 to Hwy. 59. Segments F-1 and F-2 of the road connect Hwy. 290 in Cypress to I-45 south of The Woodlands. Also known as the Greater Houston area’s third loop, the Grand Parkway is a toll road that spans nearly 200 miles.


Timeline: mid-2013-March 2016
Cost: $1.2 billion
Funding sources: TxDOT



3. Wilson Road expansion


Officials are studying the expansion of Wilson Road between the portion of the road north of Beltway 8 and Atascocita Road. The project would expand the road from two and three lanes to four. An engineering study will determine the final alignment, right of way and environmental requirements.

Cost: $10.2 million
Funding sources: Harris County Precinct 4



4. West Lake Houston Parkway/Will Clayton Parkway Corridor Improvements


Fiber optic cables will be installed  to improve signal operations along Will Clayton Parkway between Atascocita Road and West Lake Houston Parkway.
An additional left-turn lane will also be added for northbound traffic to turn westbound onto FM 1960 from West Lake Houston Parkway.
A new traffic signal will be constructed at the intersection of June Forest Drive at Will Clayton Parkway.
