1. US 380 widening

There are plans to widen the existing four-lane roadway to a six-lane, divided roadway with grade separations at major intersections. The road project is still in the planning stages. The project will stretch from CR 26 to Loop 288. The preliminary schematic design is 60 percent complete.

2. Custer Road

Construction began in January to widen Custer Road from four to six lanes. The project stretches from SH 121 to Stonebridge Drive. The project includes widening the bridge on the roadway and modifying the traffic signals.

3. Dallas Parkway improvements

Construction on the first two phases of the project was delayed by a month. Design for the third phase is expected to begin later this year. An additional lane will be added to the northbound and southbound frontage roads of the DNT, and intersection improvements will be done to the Warren Parkway and Lebanon Road intersections.

Construction for entire the project will occur in three phases:

Phase 1 will widen the inner lanes and conduct intersection improvements at Warren Parkway and Lebanon Road.

Phase 2 will widen the outer lanes.

Phase 3 will replace the landscaping and irrigation.

4. Gaylord and John Hickman parkways extensions

Construction is nearing completion for new four-lane roadway extensions for Gaylord and John Hickman parkways that will run inside The Star development. Gaylord parkway will extend from Warren Parkway to John Hickman Parkway. John Hickman Parkway will extend from Dallas Parkway to Lebanon Road.

5. 4th Army Drive construction

Construction continues to build a new two-lane connection from Lebanon Road to the existing driveway entrance of the Stewart Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The design is almost complete to reconstruct the roadway from SCWTP to Timber Ridge Drive. The project includes reconstructing the roadway with two lanes of concrete pavement and adding a bridge over Stewart Creek.

Transportation UpdatesRoadway extension

Coit Road and Westridge Boulevard

Construction began in March to extend Coit Road and widen Westridge Boulevard to four lanes. The extension of Coit Road stretches from Panther Creek Parkway to Rockhill Parkway. The new extension will be four lanes wide. The project includes paving and installing water lines to support expansion of the adjacent Avondale neighborhood at Coit Road and Westridge Boulevard.
