Camps run weekly Monday through Thursday. Discovery College programs are specifically designed to engage children in key areas, such as science, technology, engineering and math, to promote a learning experience.

Whether they are beginners or advanced students, campers will find that the instruction and activities at the camp will challenge and improve riding ability.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands 281-465-0955 www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org Ages: 4-8 Dates: June 6-Aug. 18 Cost: $69-$154 (per week) The Woodlands Children’s Museum offers summer workshops where the curriculum is age appropriate, developmentally sound and fosters creative thinking. Workshops offered for younger children include art, cultural discovery, construction and science concepts. Older children can select from pre-engineering concepts, strategy and mechanical principles.


OVERNIGHT CAMPS

Camp Allen Camp Allen Conference and Retreat Center 18800 FM 362, Navasota www.campallen.org/summercamp Ages: grades 3-12 Dates: June 5-Aug. 11 Cost: $594 (one week) Located in Navasota, Camp Allen’s summer camp is one of the largest summer camp programs in the Episcopal Church. Each summer, over 1,900 campers from across Texas come to refocus and relax. Scholarships for the camp are also available. Camp activities include archery, horseback riding, canoeing, swimming, and arts and crafts.

Camp Blessing Texas also invites all siblings, ages 7-13, of their campers to be a camper as well. Older siblings, age 14 and older, have the opportunity to volunteer at camp.

When campers arrive at camp, they receive their camp activity schedule, which contains 10 40-minute activity periods each day.

Campers who have completed K-fifth grades can also participate in the Wild Camp, which is a such camp with animal-themed cabins, a water park and a climbing jungle.

Located about two hours north of Houston, the camp offers eight camp weeks beginning the first week of June. The camp features recreational activities, such as wakeboarding, archery, a ropes course and horseback riding.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Texas Motorcross Camp Rio Bravo Motocross Park 11610 N. Lake Houston Parkway, Houston www.fcacamps.org Ages: 6 and older Dates: July 25-28 Cost: $575 FCA Motocross Camp builds its curriculum, schedule and activities from experience in ministry and motocross. This camp is for girls and boys and for both beginners and advanced riders. Camp officials suggest some ride time on the bike, but do not require racing experience.
