With all precincts reporting, Gibson received 76.1 percent of votes, or 22,770 tallies. Hassan finished with 7,146 votes, or 23.9 percent. Gibson, an attorney and small-business owner, will face incumbent Pete Olson, R-Sugar Land, in the November general election. Olson—who was unopposed in the Republican primary—has represented District 22 since 2009. Gibson received 72 percent, or 9,395 votes after early returns, leading A.R. Hassan, who garnered 2,702 tallies, or 28 percent. With all Brazoria County precincts reporting, Gibson garnered 75 percent, or 1,924 votes. Hassan received 25 percent of votes, or 640 tallies. With 59 out of 111 precincts reporting in Fort Bend County, Gibson received 78.8 percent of the votes, or 6,668 tallies. A.R. Hassan trailed Gibson with 21.2 percent, or 1,798 votes. Harris County early voting has Gibson with 803 votes, or 75.3 percent. Hassan garnered 264 early tallies, or 24.7 percent. The winner will face Rep.
