1.Independence Parkway repairs

A project to repair concrete along Independence Parkway is underway. Lane closures are taking place from Plano Parkway to West 15th Street and from Cross Bend Road to West Spring Creek Parkway. The crews will meet in the middle between 15th Street and West Parker Road where an ultrathin layer of a new, more flexible type of asphalt will be applied.

Timeline: Jan. 2016-Jan. 2017
Cost: $4.2 million
Funding sources: city of Plano, Collin County

2. Communications Parkway/Midway Road repairs

Lanes along Communications Parkway between Windhaven Parkway and Parker Road are closed as a concrete repair project nears completion. Construction crews will then move to Midway Road at the Park Boulevard and West Parker Road intersections to commence similar repairs. The entire project is expected to be complete by the end of March.

3. Dallas North Tollway widening

Utility relocations and lane closures along Dallas Parkway are taking place as the project to widen the Dallas North Tollway from the Sam Rayburn Tollway to the President George Bush Turnpike continues. Construction crews are also building retaining walls along the entire length of the project. When complete, the DNT will be four lanes in both directions.
