Construction began in November to widen Custer Road from four lanes to a six-lane divided roadway. The 3-mile-long project spans from SH 121 to Stonebridge Drive. The roadway north of Stonebridge Drive is already six lanes. The widening project is being funded mostly by TxDOT and Collin County. The city will widen Virginia Parkway between US 75 and Ridge Road from four lanes to six lanes. From US 75 to Bellegrove Drive, the roadway will be widened to the edge of the existing pavement. From Bellegrove to Ridge, the roadway will be widened within the existing median.
