This year’s Katy Home and Garden Show will feature a few extra goodies to celebrate the 10th event. “It’s so fun, we’ve worked with the same people at the Merrell Center for 10 years,” the show’s director and founder, Robyn Cade, said. The first show was in 2007. Cade said the show will feature food trucks and a giveaway in conjunction with the 100th anniversary with the establishment of national parks. Each 100th person to enter the show will get two tickets to see the film “National Parks Adventure 3D,” which opens at the Houston Museum of Natural Science Feb. 12. Cade previously managed several other home and garden shows, including the Houston Home and Garden Show and an event in Lake Conroe, but when she and her husband moved to Katy, they decided to bring one to the area. “I wanted to bring the same kind of caliber show to the Katy area,” Cade said.  “We knew we wanted to be on the only weekend in January with no football.” The show will feature 300 exhibits and Matt Muenster of the DIY Network show “Bath Crashers” will conduct bathroom remodeling seminars. Cade said the show will also bring back Katy native Frank Bielec of HGTV’s “Trading Spaces.” Katy Home and Garden Show Jan. 30, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Jan. 31, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets: $9 (adults), $8 (senior), $5 (military), free (children under 12)
