From the biggest bowl of soup to the tiniest muffin, Sisters Cafe and Catering in downtown Conroe keeps its menu homemade and only uses ingredients produced on local farms, co-owner Amber Wilson said.
Wilson said she and her sister, Peggy Neighbors, had discussed opening a restaurant together for many years before opening the cafe last July.
The cafe offers sandwiches made with farm fresh vegetables and bread baked in-house, along with pies and cakes made from scratch, fruit smoothies and salads.
“We are always changing things,” Wilson said. “We offer a different soup every week, in addition to the ones we already have, and then we make a special dessert each week on a whim.”
The two sisters seek out partnerships with local farmers for their produce because they believe it is good for the community, Wilson said.
Additionally, Wilson and Neighbors have dedicated a wall in the cafe to selling artwork to benefit homeless men and women through a partnership with the Under Over Fellowship church.
