Activities at the Alianza Eco International School may resemble the same sorts of things parents would find at any other preschool, but all lessons are taught in Spanish. As an ecological school, staff incorporates lessons about nature and how to interact with it and respect it.
The campus features several classrooms, a library with Spanish and English books, a gym, a presentation area and two outdoor playgrounds.
Mariana Aular, co-founder and director of curriculum founded a similar school in Argentina before moving to Houston. That school serves 500 students from pre-K through high school, a path Aular hopes to follow with the Cypress school.
“We think bilingualism is the greatest gift you can give,” she said. “It opens doors, not only for your career but the friends you make.”
Students can be enrolled in monthly programs, after-school programs or specialty camps. An adult program was launched in January. Available languages include Spanish, French and Mandarin, all of which are taught by staff on-site.
An open house is scheduled for Jan. 30 from 10-11:30 a.m.
