Leander ISD and EANES ISD On Jan. 4, five extra minutes were added to Eanes ISD and Leander ISD school days as a result of House Bill 2610, which was passed in the last legislative session.

HB 2610 requires all public school students to receive 75,600 minutes of instruction—instead of the 180 days that were previously required.

LISD

In 2016, LISD elementary students will end classes five minutes later, with school day hours lasting from 7:45 a.m.-2:50 p.m.

LISD high school campuses, with the exception of Cedar Park High School, will begin classes five minutes earlier, with school days lasting from 8:40 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

CPHS and all LISD middle schools already meet legislative requirements, according to the district.

EISD

In 2016, EISD elementary school students will attend school for an extra 10 minutes.

Although the length of the high school and middle school days will remain the same, their start and end times will be five minutes later.

For all high school and middle school students riding buses, scheduled before-school pickup and after-school drop-off times are five minutes later than in 2015.

Elementary bus pickup times will remain the same, with after-school drop-off times changed to be five minutes later. Eanes Elementary School, an exception to this change, will have drop-offs of 10 minutes later after school.
