Consultants provided a progress report to Bee Cave City Council on Dec. 8 that showed city residents agree the area’s schools, well-planned development, family-friendly nature and Hill Country character are its strengths. Respondents reported that the city’s weaknesses include traffic, a lack of connectivity, events and small businesses.

Comprehensive Plan UpdateThe firm, hired by the city to assess the community’s needs and provide a policy framework for an update to Bee Cave’s comprehensive plan, conducted community forums in June and December and interviewed stakeholders and area residents, said Zakcq Lockrem, director of planning at Asakura Robinson, a planning, urban design and landscape architecture firm.

Following more research, the team will begin working with city staff to develop its plan document, he said.
