The acquisition, which became official Dec. 1, will expand Westwood’s commercial market presence. Pogue said the acquisition is a great way to enhance services offered to his existing clientele, adding that both companies are committed to excellence and will be a great fit together.
“I am proud that after almost 17 years of ownership, we created something another group thought enough about [and saw] there was a value created to initiate this acquisition,” Pogue said. “For the immediate future, I will remain with Westwood Professional Services. Long term, I will have the option to become a shareholder in this organization, or the option to redirect my career if desired. We will wait and see what the future holds at this point, but I am excited for the opportunity that it affords. Further, I am happy that my employees are also making this transition and the environment that this will create for them as well.”
According to a news release, Westwood is a multidisciplined survey and engineering firm providing services to support commercial and residential development, wind and solar energy, power delivery, and oil and gas projects nationwide. The firm was established in 1972 and serves clients from multiple U.S. offices.
Leading Westwood’s Dallas-Fort Worth office and the firm’s national land development business, Bryan P. Powell, PE said in a press release that the acquisition was exciting for employees at both companies, adding that he expects to capitalize on the combined expertise of both teams to better serve the growing needs of the commercial market.
