A 108-suite Residence Inn at 600 W. Hwy. 290 is scheduled to open in October 2016.

Residence Inn Austin Southwest will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by Pathfinder Development, according to a Nov. 11 news release.

Designed for extended stays, Residence Inn Austin Southwest will feature a fitness center, an outdoor resort-style pool, a fire pit and an outdoor grill for guests to use. The hotel will also include more than 1,000 square feet of meeting space. Developers adjusted designs for the building and parking lot to save as many of the mature trees on the property as possible, said Chirag Patel, owner and managing director of Pathfinder Development.

“We tweaked the typical Residence Inn design through use of local exterior materials, to be more representative to the area,"Patel said in the release. "We also looked to incorporate many green features into this hotel including energy recovery systems, high efficiency elevators, low VOC paints, improved indoor and outdoor air quality, and several water conservation measures."
