While the Nov. 3 election date seems far away the deadline to register to vote is almost here. A voter must register to vote 30 days before the election date. Oct. 5 is the last day voters can register to vote for McKinney's Nov. 3 bond election and state constitution propositions. If you are not sure if you are registered to vote, visit the Texas Secretary of State office's website. If you have registered before and have received a voter card but have recently changed your name or address you may need register again. To register online click here. To vote, you must be a U.S. citizen; a resident of the county in which you are registering; 18 years old during the Nov. 3 election; not a convicted felon; and not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law.
