Collin College's Dignity Initiative will host three panel discussions about the dangers of sex trafficking and ways to combat it on Oct.13-15 at all of the college's major campuses.

According to Equality Now Equality Now, an organization that advocates for the human rights of women and girls around the world, sex trafficking is a multi-billion-dollar global industry. At least 20.9 million adults and children are bought and sold worldwide into the sex trade.

The panel discussions are part of Dignity Initiative's fall awareness campaign and will provide information about the issues associated with sex trafficking and ways to help end it.

The panel discussions are scheduled as follows:

11:30 a.m., Oct. 13 – Central Park Campus Conference Center, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney.

1 p.m., Oct. 14 – Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco.

1 p.m., Oct. 15 – Spring Creek Campus Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.

The Dignity Initiative is a district-wide Collin College campaign to raise awareness and inspire action on issues of violence against and oppression of women. Previous campaigns have focused on the objectification of women in media and the victimizer’s role in abuse and oppression.
