In order to keep pace with the increase in residents and vehicles in Williamson County, officials want public input to help learn how to coordinate connectivity and mobility throughout the region.

The county is seeking public input on amendments to its Long-Range Transportation Plan, which was originally approved in 2009. The plan amendments include projects located within central Williamson County bounded by I-35, SH 45 and SH 130, according to a Sept. 18 news release.

The county will hold public meetings to gather input on the changes Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 from 5-8 p.m. in the Williamson County Courthouse at 710 S. Main St. in the commissioners’ courtroom on the second floor. Printed copies will also be available in public libraries in Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock and Taylor.

The comments received on the proposed amendment will be presented to the Commissioners Court for consideration. Final routes for the conceptual locations of the plans will be determined through planning and environmental studies, according to the release.

Residents can comment on the amendments until Oct. 9 online at www.wilco.org/lrtp.
