FM 2499 lowered lane work
The work on FM 2499 to create lowered lanes that allow through traffic to avoid waiting at traffic signals has resumed after being delayed by the heavy flooding of Lake Grapevine this summer. Starting in August the construction crews are expected to begin paving the lowered lanes that will run from SH 121 to the area near Grapevine Mills Boulevard in Grapevine. The crews were working on drainage and wall work in late July on the sunken lanes.

South White Chapel Boulevard
The two-lane, undivided Southlake roadway was resurfaced from Continental Boulevard to the Big Bear Creek bridge and features a different curb system—a concrete ribbon curb—which helps contain the road’s asphalt more than a traditional curb. The bridge at the south of the roadway was also being overlaid with a new asphalt surface this summer.

Pleasant Run Road
Crews are working on reconstructing Pleasant Run Road in Colleyville from Mission Lane to Bogart Drive to a two-lane street with the addition of new sidewalks and trails. JLB, the contractor, began doing curb and gutter work in late July. Once curbs and gutters are in place on both sides, the contractor will start on driveways. Residents who live along the road have limited access, but the road is closed to through traffic.

SH 121
The effort to expand SH 121 to 10 lanes from Grapevine to Lewisville is still underway with work being done on three bridges in that section of highway. Work is also being done on the frontage roads near those bridges. The three bridges are the ones that pass over Sandy Lake Road, Freeport Parkway and Denton Creek. The project is about 45 percent complete as of late July.
