All eligible campuses in Cy-Fair ISD earned a Met Standard rating from the Texas Education Agency, which released new data Aug. 7.

Districts receive either a Met Standard or Improvement Required rating from the TEA, which uses four index targets to determine district and campus ratings.

Index 1 looks at student achievement; Index 2 studies student progress; Index 3 looks at closing performance gaps; and Index 4 takes into account postsecondary readiness.

CFISD has achieved a Met Standard rating for three consecutive years since the new rating system began.

Many schools in the district also earned a Distinction Designation in the following categories: academic achievement in reading/ELA, academic achievement in mathematics, academic achievement in science, academic achievement in social studies, top 25 percent in student progress and top 25 percent in closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness.

Statewide, 94 percent of school districts and charters achieved the Met Standard rating. For this year’s ratings, results from the 2015 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness in mathematics for grades 3-8 are excluded. Commissioner of Education Michael Williams decided in April not to include the results because of new math standards implemented in the 2014-15 school year, according to the TEA.
