Transportation updates Morton Ranch Road widening[/caption]

1. Morton Ranch Road widening

Rain delays set the July completion date back for the widening of Morton Ranch Road from Katy Hockley Cut Off to Porter roads. Construction is more than 70 percent complete. The completion date has been pushed back to the first week of August.
Timeline: October 2014–August 2015

2. Morton Road Expansion

Morton Road from Katy Hockley Cut-Off westward to Pitts Road will undergo improvements in two phases. The two-lane road will become four 12-foot lanes with a 5-foot concrete sidewalk on the south side.

Cost: $10.4 million

3. Cane Island Overpass

Construction of the Cane Island overpass is 65 percent complete. The project includes westbound and eastbound entrance and exit ramps at I-10. The project should be complete by October.
Timeline: July 2014-October 2015
Cost: $10.74 million
