On June 21, Biscuits + Groovy joined the Native South Food Park at 10106 Manchaca Road. This is the second Biscuits + Groovy food trailer in Austin, the first being at Hyde Park on 5015 Duval St. since 2010. Menu items include "The Aretha Franklin," three biscuits topped with white pepper gravy, sausage, maple bacon, colby jack cheese and chives, according to the menu. A smaller choice, the "Bee Gee," is a single biscuit with butter and a choice of house-made jam. Jon Lach, owner of Biscuits + Groovy, said he started the first trailer in Hyde Park because there were not many vegetarian and vegan breakfast eateries in 2010. "Now, our trailer at Hyde Park is insanely busy," Lach said. "Lines go down the street and we can't keep up." The success of the first trailer prompted Lach to open a second location in Southwest Austin, he said. Prices range from $1 to $9, and all menu items can be adapted for vegetarians or vegans, according to the company. www.iwantbiscuits.com
