Update June 3, 2016, 9:15 a.m.: BAM Academy has opened its South Austin location at 113 Industrial Blvd., Ste. C-1. Original story: Local business Bridging All Movement center, also known as BAM Academy, plans to open a South Austin location at 4401 Freidrich Lane, Bldg. 4, Ste. 400, by September and has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to help pay for the expansion. The gym, which operates an existing location at 8222 N. Lamar Blvd., offers Parkour training, a practice focused on moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible. Also available is training in adult fitness, aerial silk fitness, adult gymnastics and theater stunts, CEO and founder Matthew Willis said. “We wanted a location that more people could get to and we also wanted a larger space,” he said, noting the new site is more than three times the size of the North Lamar location and will become the company’s headquarters. Theater and circus programs will be among the options for students, and instructors will be able to rent the space to teach their own dance, theater and martial arts classes, Willis said. “We’re going to be able to offer more programs, more classes and more times,” he said. Participants in the Indiegogo campaign can donate to help support opening costs and receive benefits, such as membership discounts and a week of summer camp for donating $250.
