Cedar Park The city of Cedar Park’s Travel and Tourism Department launched a project in late April to inform residents about the history of the city.
The historical tourism program has 10 markers placed in various locations, including Cedar Park Cemetery and at the Heritage Oak Tree. Visitors can scan the QR code at the marker, which will direct them to videos of residents telling stories about the location’s history, said Katie Krampitz, the city’s historical tourism manager. The website also includes other historical information, such as a timeline, photos and a map of where the 10 markers can be found.
Krampitz said the program is an educational tool for teachers and residents to learn more about the city’s history.
