Hutto

The city is considering a numerical system for evaluating companies that could receive tax abatements for relocating to Hutto.

City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance at its April 16 meeting, that provides criteria for offering tax abatements to companies relocating to Hutto.

Along with the amended ordinance the city will also be using a new, numerical system for evaluating such potential companies. Assistant City Manager Micah Grau said the ranking system would help staff in offering the right level of incentives to potential companies. Grau said the numerical ranking criteria would include factors such as the number of jobs created and retained and the local sales tax impact.
