Parents learned more about products for their children at a similar expo in Brooklyn that Jessica Glorieux launched.[/caption]
New parents are invited to an April 11-12 crash course on raising children through an event that offers helpful tips, tricks and a list of needed items.
The Big Baby Bash & Toddler Jam was started by Jessica Glorieux and Liza Wilson. Glorieux did a similar program while she lived in Brooklyn, and Wilson owns Toybrary Austin where parents can borrow toys for their children.
"We both have a similar mission of supporting parents and providing opportunities to play as a family and learn," Glorieux said. "Those are our biggest motivators."
The two-day event is hosted at 7811 Rockwood Lane beginning April 11.
The first day will offer programs for expectant parents or those interested in having a child in the near future. Sessions will tackle multiple topics, such as baby gear, breastfeeding, introducing your dog to your baby and information just for dads, Glorieux said.
Day-two activities are better suited for parents with infants to preschool-age children, Glorieux said. The sessions will discuss how best to choose a preschool, best toys for brain development and various tips for introducing children and parents to music and language classes.
"Any one of these talks would be the price of the ticket or more," Glorieux said.
Single-day tickets are $15. That is good for admission for one couple and up to three children. Anyone who buys a VIP ticket, which cost $75 each, will receive a bag filled with goodies and swag, Glorieux said.
Glorieux and Wilson said they value the chance to educate parents on topics including the right food and the best toys during development. The event will also include children play space, Wilson said.
Thousands of dollars worth of products will be given away during a raffle, which will be held during the expo. Also, parents can learn during the expo how to properly install a child car seat into their own car, Glorieux said.
