Board members chose Susanna Russell as the district's new assistant superintendent of secondary education.

Russell will move to PISD from her position as associate superintendent of high schools, athletics and fine arts at Ysleta ISD in El Paso.

"The person in this position provides critical support to our campus principals, and we are excited to have an educator of Dr. Russell's caliber join our team," PISD Superintendent Alex Torrez said.

Russell has also worked in administration at Lake Travis ISD, and has served as a principal in Katy ISD and Judson ISD.
