Spare Time will be a family-focused activity center featuring 22 lanes of bowling, a 4,500-square-foot laser tag area that can host up to 26 players at one time and a 6,000-square-foot arcade with about 75 to 80 games. Mike Emmons, who started Spare Time in Temple, said the arcade will feature a prize area with items ranging from bubble gum to an iPad.
Emmons said the facility will include a full casual-dining restaurant serving hamburgers, pizza, wings and salads. Emmons said bowlers can have their food and drinks brought to their lanes as well.
Emmons said Spare Time will also include spaces for private events.
Spare Time will employ about 80 people for most of the year and increase staff to about 90 to 95 during peak periods.
Emmons said the next location will be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
