Athletes, families, pet owners and trail lovers can find plenty of options among Cedar Park and Leander’s abundant city, county and neighborhood parks.

LEANDER


Benbrook Ranch Park
1100 Halsey Drive | 46 acres
Visitors can utilize the park’s disc golf course, soccer fields or softball fields; rent the pavilion for events; or bring children to the playscape. Benbrook also includes sheltered restrooms and walking trails. In October the Leander Parks and Recreation Department began a $2.3 million expansion of the park’s sports complex. The project will include three new baseball fields; a batting cage; a pavilion; and added restrooms, parking spaces and trails. The city hopes to open the new fields for play in spring 2016.

Devine Lake Park
1807 Waterfall Ave. | 45 acres
Guests can access the lakeside park from the North Creek subdivision and picnic on wide fields or at the park’s pavilion. Restrooms are available beside the park’s parking lot, and children can play on a playscape. The park hosts the annual Devine Lake Kite Festival each spring. However, low water levels during the past few years have discouraged lake activities such as boating and fishing. The city’s parks master plan recommends rebuilding the lake’s fishing dock.

Mason Creek Park
801 Eagles Way | 4 acres
The park in the Mason Creek North subdivision features picnic tables, a playscape and a trail.



Northcreek Ranch Park
1001 North Creek Blvd. | 2 acres
The Northcreek Ranch neighborhood park includes picnic tables, a pavilion, a playscape and a small trail.

Robin Bledsoe Park
601 S. Bagdad Road | 17 acres
Robin Bledsoe has two multipurpose lighted athletic fields that can be rented for events. Guests can purchase concessions during sports events or splash in a pool or water playscape. The park also includes restrooms and walking space on a tall hill overlooking the fields. The Leander Parks and Recreation Department has plans to expand the park’s parking lots and renovate the athletic fields, converting them from multipurpose use to football or soccer use.

Southwest Williamson County Regional Park
3005 CR 175 | 800 acres
Athletes will find plenty of playing space at the county’s largest park. It features one football field surrounded by a 400-meter track, two softball fields, six basketball courts, eight tennis courts and 11 soccer fields. The park also has fields for cricket and disc golf, restroom facilities, a pool and splash pad, a playscape, an amphitheater, picnic tables and cycling/walking trails.

Cedar Rock Railroad

Southwest Williamson County Regional Park features Cedar Rock Railroad, a miniature train that operates on a 1.3-mile track. The railroad is open from March to November on Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The train is also open year-round on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Aug. 2 railroad owner and operator Ken Knowles opened Shady Oak Junction, a new train-themed recreation area with a merchandise and snack stand. Tickets for the main train cost $2.50. Tickets for The Little Locomotive Chase, a smaller crank-car ride, cost $2. All purchases are cash-only.

CEDAR PARK


Brushy Creek Lake Park
3300 Brushy Creek Road | 89 acres
Located beside Brushy Creek Lake, the park offers two bocce courts, a canoe launch, a fishing pier, pavilions, playscapes, restrooms and a 1-mile loop trail. A free water playscape operates from May through September.

Brushy Creek Sports Park
2310 Brushy Creek Road | 54 acres
The park has picnic areas, playscapes, restrooms, a disc golf course, two baseball or softball fields and three soccer or football fields. Athletes can rent fields for a minimum of two hours at a cost of $12.50 for each hour. Field lighting costs an additional $25 per hour, and nonresidents must pay $25 an hour for field rentals.

Buttercup Creek Park
411 Twin Oak Trail | 3 acres
The park includes two tennis courts, a swimming pool, pavilions and a picnic area.

Champion Park
3830 Brushy Creek Road | 33 acres
The Williamson County park near Brushy Creek includes a fishing dock, a playscape, climbing rocks, a pavilion and restrooms. A free water playscape is open May 17 to Sept. 1 Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Elizabeth M. Milburn Community Park
1901 Sun Chase Blvd. | 42 acres
The city park features a BMX racing track, a rock-climbing wall, a soccer field, a swimming pool, two tennis courts, a 1-mile trail and three wiffle ball fields. The park also has pavilions and restrooms.

Forest Oaks Park
521 Lynnwood Trail | 22 acres
The neighborhood park includes a pavilion, a picnic area, a playscape and restrooms.

Heritage Oak Park
875 Quest Parkway | 1 acre
The city park is home to a 400-year-old oak tree. The park also includes picnic areas and playscapes. Each December the city decorates the oak tree with 60,000 lights and hosts the Holiday Tree Lighting & Santa’s Workshop event in the park.

Janet Bartles Park
1100 Buttercup Creek Blvd. | 8 acres
Guests can have picnics; play on playscapes; or practice basketball, soccer or volleyball on the park’s sports fields. The park also has restrooms.

Nelson Ranch Park
905 Nelson Ranch Road | 4 acres
The neighborhood park includes a lit basketball court, a pavilion, a playscape and restrooms.

Peggy Garner Park
2400 Peach Tree Lane | 7 acres
The neighborhood park on Bell Boulevard includes basketball courts and spaces for guests to picnic or play on playscapes. Restrooms are available.

Quest Park
614 Stallion Drive | 11 acres
Guests can stroll a nearly 1-mile trail in the park, play on a covered playscape or have a picnic.

Ranch Trails Park
3701 Ranch Trails Court | 14 acres
The neighborhood park includes basketball and volleyball courts, outdoor exercise bars, a pavilion and a playscape atop a mulch bed.

Rosemary Denny Park
2400 E. Riviera Drive | 9 acres
Guests can reserve the city park’s clubhouse and pavilion for events. The park also features a lit basketball court, a picnic area and playscapes. Restrooms are available.

Town Center Park
1435 Main St. | 20 acres
The park surrounds the Cedar Park Recreation Center, which includes Cedar Park Parks and Recreation Department offices. Guests can visit the city’s sculpture garden to see the artworks on display, and walk the 1-mile trail that surrounds Town Center lake.

Twin Lakes Park
204 E. Little Elm Trail | 50 acres
Twin Lakes Family YMCA operates the park, which includes an archery range, multipurpose sports fields, a ropes course, a swimming pool and a water playscape. Annual summer camps are also scheduled in the park. For more details contact Twin Lakes Family YMCA at 512-250-9622.

Veterans Memorial Park
2525 W. New Hope Drive | 48 acres
Guests can swim at Veterans Memorial Pool, the park’s 8,500-square-foot aquatic facility that includes a public pool with beach area, umbrellas and a water playscape. Veterans Memorial Park also features 1.2 miles of trails, a veterans memorial wall, community garden and dropoff box for worn-out flags. Athletes can play at lighted basketball and tennis courts. Pet owners can bring dogs to Cedar Bark Park, a 5-acre dog park with a pond, showers, water fountains and a separate area for smaller dogs. The park’s Memorial Hall, outdoor amphitheater and pavilions are available to rent. The park also includes multiple picnic areas, playscapes and restrooms.
