With concerns about the safety and efficiency of the city of Austin's traffic plan for the Austin Trail of Lights, which runs from Dec. 7–21, Rollingwood city staff met with city of Austin officials Dec. 2.

"We shared our concerns about the closure of the underpass for northbound traffic on MoPac from Bee Caves Road," Rollingwood City Administrator Charles Winfield said. "They are trying to make accommodations and have changed a few things from years past, but we are still not happy with having the underpass closed off."

Winfield said the meeting was good for both sides, and both Austin and the Texas Department of Transportation are going to monitor traffic to see what works and does not work.

"[The meeting] was very encouraging for the city," Winfield said.
