Eanes ISD middle school students are competing for a spot on a rocket to the International Space Station—one team's experiment is guaranteed to be included on the launch. The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program will select one student team from either Hill Country or West Ridge middle school to compete for a spot on the Spring 2015 launch. The district is one of four Texas school districts to participate.

More than 400 students in the middle schools are designing microgravity experiments.

The district will select three experiments in November, which will advance to the national level in December.

Eanes ISD will host a Space Science Night, which will showcase the students' experiments Nov. 13 at Westlake High School.
