In an attempt to strengthen the district, Spring ISD is inviting the community—including staff, parents and other community members—to participate in one of four community forums in the next two months.

The forums are being held to elicit feedback and ideas and address any concerns from the SISD community.

"Since joining Spring ISD, I've had many people express a desire to be part of the district's ambitious plans to strengthen our academic offerings and improve our school environments," SISD Superintendent Rodney Watson said. "We want to make Spring ISD a district of choice in Northwest Houston. It will take all of us working together as a community–to achieve this ambitious goal."

K12, an independent technology and communications firm, will lead the forums, which will focus on the district's strengths, challenges and areas for improvement. Topics at the forum will include the future direction of student achievement, safety and security, and communications.

"I encourage everyone to attend one of our upcoming community forums," Watson said. "This is an opportunity for the Spring ISD community to have an important voice in the plans underway to improve the district."

The times and locations of the forums are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 19 Bammel Middle School 16711 Ella Blvd., Houston 5–6 p.m. (staff), 6:30–7:30 p.m. (community members)
