The city of Lakeway will have Ret. U.S. Navy Admiral Bobby R. Inman as the guest speaker for its Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11.
The event, which takes place at 11 a.m. at the Lake Travis ISD's performing arts center, 3324 S. RR 620, will also recognize 25 veterans whose names will be engraved on the Spirit of Freedom Monument at Heritage Center Park.
Inman, who served in the U.S. navy from 1951–82, held the position of director of the National Security Agency and deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency during his career.
A graduate of The University of Texas, Inman will speak about national security challenges facing the U.S.
The Lake Travis High School band and choir will perform a medley of military songs and the 25 veterans will be given certificates of recognition.
Rod Kelly, Ret. U.S. Air Force Major Gen., will emcee the ceremony that also includes the Lakeway Standing Military Committee, the Lakeway Police Department honor guard and the Lohmann's Ford chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
