The Woodlands Township board Position 2 incumbent Mike Bass is the projected winner over Ron Mullins with 93 percent of precincts reporting in Montgomery County, and 88 percent of precincts reporting in Harris County.

Bass has garnered 8,519 votes, or 54 percent, while Mullins earned 7,003 votes, or 45 percent.

"Because of the issues that were brought around considering my thoughts on road expansions and mobility, I've been sort of criticized for the work I've done, but The Woodlands residents saw through all of that," Bass said.

His campaign efforts included about 60 workers canvassing villages throughout The Woodlands.

"I want to thank all of my supporters," he said. "I couldn't have done this without their help."

Township board positions carry two-year terms.

Bass is seeking his second term on The Woodlands Township board of directors after having been elected in 2012. Bass serves on the township ad hoc transportation committee, law enforcement advisory committee and The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce's mobility and legislative committees. Before his first term on the board of directors, Bass served on the Sterling Ridge Village Association board of directors. He also served on the Sterling Ridge residential design review committee as well as the design standards committee.

Mullins has worked for more than 25 years in the financial and accounting industries, and served more than 20 years in the military. He is a community watch coordinator.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.
