Guests can see new sculptures and sample local fare at the Cedar Park Sculpture Garden during the inaugural Taste of Cedar Park event from 5:30–8:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
The event is hosted by the city and the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce at the sculpture garden, located at the Cedar Park Recreation Center, 1435 Main St. Individual tickets cost $25 and include food selections and two drinks from restaurants and wineries. Guests must be age 21 or older.
Bellini's Texas Grill, Blue Corn Harvest, Lone Star Grille & Bubba's Backyard, Lambert's FoodaPalooza Mega Bus and other local eateries are participating in the event.
Taste of Cedar Park marks nearly one year since the city sculpture garden opened on Oct. 27, 2013. The garden features a rotating display of 12 bronze, painted cedar and steel sculptures on loan from Texas artists. The city owns one sculpture, "Life is a Balancing Act" by Cindy Debold, and appropriated $80,713 in its fiscal year 2014–15 budget to install electricity in the garden.
The sculpture garden was the first major project of the city's former Arts Advisory Board, which has since been reconstituted into the city's Parks, Arts and Community Enrichment, or PACE, Board.
The Taste of Cedar Park event is supported by several sponsors including a title sponsor Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. Proceeds benefit the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
