Seton Healthcare Family is hosting a series of free programs for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, including low- and no-cost mammograms, yoga and zumba classes and informational sessions.

A breast screening lunch and learn kicks off the month-long series from noon–1 p.m. Oct. 1 at The Seton Breast Center, which is located inside Seton Medical Center Austin, 1201 W. 38th St. Nurse Cindy Manning will discuss proper breast screening procedures and myths about breast cancer. The annual V.I.Pink Women's Health and Wellness Luncheon will take place from 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock and also from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Oct. 23 at Seton Northwest Hospital. The event includes a chef-prepared nutritional lunch and information about healthy diets for women. To attend the luncheon, RSVP by calling 512-324-4804.

Oct. 9—Attendees can eat lunch and participate in a yoga class from noon–2 p.m. at the Seton Breast Care Center, 1201 W. 38th St.

Oct. 10—Support group In Sickness and In Health, a monthly gathering of patients and care givers, offers story sharing, meditation and non-medical healing practices from 10:30 a.m.–noon at Seton Cove, 3708 Crawford St.

Oct. 13—The Stilletto Stampede Zumba Power class takes place from 6–7 p.m. at Seton Breast Care Center, 1201 W. 38th St.

Oct. 15—In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Day, or BRA Day, free facials and mini manicures will be offered at Seton Breast Care Center, 1201 W. 38th St. Drs. Elisabeth Potter and Adam Weinfield will answer questions and provide information including breast cancer reconstruction.

Oct. 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 5—The Power to Heal four-class workshop aims to help cancer patients and caregivers through discussions about coping strategies, emotional and spiritual courage and healthy living for the mind, body and soul. Oct. 24—From noon–1 p.m., author Mitra Motsfi will host a book signing for her memoir, "This Was No Coincidence" at Seton Breast Care Center, 1201 W. 38th St.

Oct. 29—Yoga teacher Leah Tunnel is scheduled to lead a laughter yoga class from noon–1 p.m. at Seton Breast Care Center, 1201 W. 38th Street. Attendees must RSVP by calling 512-324-1025, ext. 10262 or by emailing [email protected].

Oct. 31—On Halloween, the Pink Pumpkin event will include a luncheon, door prizes and information booths about breast cancer awareness. The event is hosted from 7 a.m.–5 p.m. at Seton Southwest Hospital, 7900 FM 1826.
