The Woodlands Township has opened filing for those residents interested in seeking a position on the community's board of directors. Four at-large positions are up for election this year, with Election Day scheduled for Nov. 4.

Positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 are on the ballot this year. The deadline to file for a place on the ballot is 5 p.m. Aug. 18.

Each of the four incumbents for the open positions has already filed their paperwork for re-election. Those incumbents include Gordy Bunch for Position 1, Mike Bass for Position 2, Jeff Long for Position 3 and Ed Robb for Position 4.

Bunch, CEO of The Woodlands Financial Group, Bass, a retired accountant, and Long, a retired engineer and retired director of public works, each were elected to their first terms on the township board in May 2012.

Robb, founding pastor of The Woodlands United Methodist Church, was first elected to the board in May 2010 and won re-election in May 2012. Robb is seeking his third term.

To be eligible to serve as a township director, candidates must be 18 years old, be a U.S. citizen, have lived in The Woodlands Township for at least the past six months, and have lived in Texas for at least the past 12 months.

Oct. 6 is the last day to register to vote in the November election, and early voting begins on Oct. 20.
