PizzaRev, a "fast-casual" pizza restaurant, plans to open its first Texas location in Round Rock in late August, company spokeswoman Chrissy Roofe said.

The restaurant, which will be located at 200 University Blvd., Ste. 640, allows customers to build their own pizzas using freshly made dough, four kinds of sauces, a variety of cheeses and more than 30 additional toppings. Each 11-inch personal pizza will be $7.99, no matter how many ingredients are added, Roofe said.

"[Franchise owners David Jones and Doug Tieber] were looking to expand and grow and they think Austin is an exciting place to be involved with because of all the business development and the economic and population growth in the area," Roofe said. "It seemed like a good spot for us to move, and we're excited to become part of the community."

Roofe said the company is planning to open at least four Austin-area restaurants in the next 12–18 months.

In addition to savory and dessert pizzas, the restaurant will serve craft beer on tap and in bottles.

Entertainment industry executives Irv Zuckerman and Rodney Eckerman started PizzaRev with their sons Jeff Zuckerman and Nicholas Eckerman in 2012. The company currently operates 10 restaurants in the Los Angeles–area.
