Central Health plans to keep its tax rate at 12.9 cents per $100 of assessed value during the 2015 fiscal year.

Officials from the county's health care district briefed the Travis County Commissioners Court on financial topics July 8.

The court sets Central Health's tax rate each year. Central Health provides access to care to uninsured and underinsured county residents.

In 2013, the health care agency facilitated 340,126 primary care visits, an 8 percent increase compared with the 2012 fiscal year.

Central Health officials also briefed the court on upcoming challenges. Rental revenue from University Medical Center Brackenridge will drop from $32 million in the 2015 fiscal year to $9 million in the 2018 fiscal year.

Officials said the 1115 Medicaid Transformational Waiver may not be renewed at the end of its five-year lifespan.

The court will see a draft budget Aug. 26. Central Health will hold public hearings on budget Aug. 28 and Sept. 3 and the court will consider approving the budget Sept. 23.
