Lake Travis Labor of Love, a nonprofit organization that funds projects for families in the Lake Travis area, awarded 12 grants to local organizations at the end of May, President Michelle Zogas said.
A total of $47,235 was distributed among area organizations including the Lake Travis and Spicewood crisis ministries, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, and Grace Ministries, a group focused on helping children enrolled in school lunch programs. LTlov also funded three college scholarships of $1,500 each and 10 scholarships to Lake Travis ISD's Project Graduation, an overnight program for seniors following graduation ceremonies, she said.
The Central Texas Lions Kidsight Foundation also received an LTlov grant to purchase a vision-screening device, which was used during the Lake Travis Public Library's Summer Kids reading event held June 7, Zogas said.
